First Impressions
The Radical Yeti Unleashed comes in an extremely menacing black solid color blend that signals absolute control. At the heart of this model beats the symmetrical Yeti Core, which features a low 2.482 RG and a massive 0.054 differential. The outer layer consists of the grabby Solid Reactive coverstock, sanded out of the box to a dull 500 and 4000 Siaair finish. This combination of a rev-happy core and a rough solid cover should make the ball read extremely predictably off the front and generate a smooth, huge move in the midlane.
Comparison
Compared to the Radical Yeti Uncaged with its pearl cover, the Unleashed's shell delivers a marginally earlier reaction and an absolutely smooth breakpoint. Against the Storm Phaze II, the core provides a comparable change of direction, since the differential is extremely high. Once the transition sets in and the lane builds uneven friction, the Yeti Unleashed benefits enormously from its strong core dynamics. It smooths out inconsistencies and drives hard into the pins.
On the Lanes
The Radical Yeti Unleashed is best suited to lane conditions with medium to high oil volume. For strokers and tweeners it offers the option of playing very directly up the boards, since the surface minimizes unexpected reactions. The steady drive toward the pocket should provide dependable carry, especially when absolute accuracy is required. On extremely wet lanes, however, the ball's flat motion can sometimes make it react a bit too tame.
