BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The 900 Global Wolverine Wrath comes in an eye-catching color combination of pink, blue and navy and was released in June 2024 as an overseas release. Technically, the ball is built around the proven Lacerate 2.0 Symmetric core, a design that according to the manufacturer combines the most successful core designs from 900 Global. The upper portion comes from the Honey Badger, while the lower portion is borrowed from the Badger. With an additional dense flip block, this hybrid core layout should deliver extremely quick direction changes in the backend. With a 2.540 RG and a 0.052 differential (15 lbs), the core produces medium to high flare values of roughly 4 to 5 inches. The Reserve Blend 701 Pearl Reactive coverstock, which ships at 3000 grit Abralon out of the box, differs clearly from the S70 Pearl cover used on the other Wolverine models and positions the Wrath as a distinct variant within the Wolverine family. The combination of pearl coverstock and dull surface finish points to a design aimed at medium to heavier oil volumes.
Comparison The Wolverine Wrath slots into the Wolverine series in an interesting way. While the original Wolverine from 900 Global was equipped with the S70 Pearl cover and a 1500 grit polish, the Wrath uses the Reserve Blend 701 Pearl Reactive coverstock with a considerably duller 3000 grit Abralon finish. This should give the Wrath an earlier reaction and more traction in oil than its highly polished predecessor. Compared to the Wolverine Dark Moss from 900 Global, which also relies on S70 Pearl with 4K Fast, the Wrath should be even more controllable on medium to fresh lane conditions thanks to the different coverstock and the duller surface. The Lacerate 2.0 core is also found in the Wolverine Mutant from 900 Global, which however is fitted with the S74 cover and was designed for lighter conditions. The Reserve Blend 701 line has also been used by 900 Global in balls such as the Xponent (as a solid version) and the Honey Badger Blameless (as a pearl version), with the Wrath and its particular 3000 grit finish likely taking a middle position between aggressive solid balls and highly polished pearl versions.
On the Lanes The Wolverine Wrath was designed by the manufacturer for medium to heavier oil volumes and should play to its strengths especially when you need a combination of length through the heads and a strong backend reaction. The 3000 grit Abralon surface allows an earlier reaction than highly polished pearl balls without giving up the typical backend energy of a pearl coverstock. The medium 2.540 RG in combination with the 0.052 differential should give the ball a balanced revving character that is likely suited to both medium and higher rev rates. Thanks to the construction of the Lacerate 2.0 core with its special flip block, the ball could be particularly interesting if you need a strong but controllable angle into the pocket on medium lanes. The dull finish also allows easy adjustments — polishing it up for more length or sanding it for more friction. As an overseas ball, the Wrath is approved for USBC league play, but may not be approved for all PBA competitions. The ball positions itself as a versatile option for medium lane conditions and could serve both as a benchmark ball for certain player types and as a transition ball when stronger equipment reacts too early or highly polished balls don't find enough traction in the oil.
