BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Dyno-Thane Wayne Webb RX Pearl comes in a shimmering, glossy pearl design that is easy to track down the lane and gives the bowler precise visual feedback on the roll phase. The technical heart of this model is the special symmetrical Flow In Integrated Core. This particular construction stands out because the outer shell material is structurally integrated into the core design in order to control dynamic parameters precisely and optimize hitting power. With an RG value of 2.540, this core sits squarely in the middle of the performance spectrum and aims at very controlled, even energy transfer. The core numbers produce medium to high flare potential, allowing the ball to continually present a fresh contact surface to the oil. The core is wrapped in the reactive SH Pearl cover. Out of the box, this surface is given a smooth high-gloss finish. This specific material composition is primarily designed to let the ball glide through the heads effortlessly and without much loss of energy. The design targets predictable length. The Wayne Webb RX Pearl should avoid unwanted friction in the front part of the lane and store its rotational energy efficiently, then read reliably in the backend and initiate a stable forward motion.
Comparison In comparison, the Dyno-Thane Wayne Webb RX Pearl shows behavior that, thanks to its slick makeup, sets it clearly apart from rougher balls. Next to an established benchmark solid such as the Storm Phaze II, the Wayne Webb RX Pearl travels through the front part of the lane considerably more easily and for longer. It stores its energy far more efficiently in the core before initiating a later and more defined move toward the pocket at the breakpoint. Compared with the extremely dull original version, the Dyno-Thane Wayne Webb RX, this shiny pearl execution generates significantly more length down the lane and offers a noticeably more dynamic change of direction in the backend. In a direct comparison with a modern asymmetrical heavy-oil model like the Brunswick Defender, the overall dynamics of the Wayne Webb RX Pearl come out noticeably rounder and smoother because of the symmetrical core. The design limits maximum flare potential to a very manageable level, so the ball always responds predictably to sudden friction and is far less prone to unpredictable, jumpy overreaction.
On the Lanes On the lanes, the Dyno-Thane Wayne Webb RX Pearl proves to be a highly specialized tool for medium to slightly drier lane conditions, one that shows its full range above all during the transition. The design is aimed precisely at those tactically demanding situations in which the heads have already become too dry for aggressive, dull solid balls due to the sheer number of shots thrown before. The polished pearl cover ensures that the ball does not burn up its energy prematurely in the first few feet, but instead glides smoothly through the played-out boards. If you generate very high ball speed, you can make excellent use of this length to get the ball into the hook effectively and efficiently, without it losing power too early. If you have a lower rev rate, you'll benefit from the clean skid phase that keeps the ball intact all the way to the backend. If the lanes do not dry up, however, or if there is heavy carrydown, the smooth surface of the pearl material can quickly become a disadvantage. On extremely dense, freshly oiled patterns the high-gloss polish is often not enough to build sufficient traction in time. In those moments the ball slides across the oil and loses noticeable carry, because the necessary punch at the pin deck is missing. Within its optimal window during the middle stages of a block, though, this model offers an outstanding balance of the length needed, enormous control and reliable action at the breakpoint.
