- Virtual Strike V

First Impressions
The Storm Virtual Strike V stands out as an Asian overseas release with a classy, eye-catching look. Inside works the extremely strong asymmetric Shape-Lock HD core with a 2.480 RG, a massive 0.052 differential and a 0.020 intermediate differential. For the surface, Storm relies on a highly polished R2S Pearl Reactive cover. This combination of the huge asymmetric core and the low-friction shell should let the ball clear the heads effortlessly and save all of its energy for a massive, asymmetric kick on the backend.
Comparison
Compared directly to the regular Storm Zero Gravity, which uses a dull solid cover, the Virtual Strike V behaves very differently through the heads and offers a drastic, angular backend motion. Against the Storm Snap Lock, the Virtual Strike V delivers considerably cleaner length, but builds a similarly powerful hook at the breakpoint thanks to its massive engine. When friction on the lane is high and the transition dries up the front part of the lane, the ball retains its energy exceptionally well.
On the Lanes
The Storm Virtual Strike V is best suited to lane conditions with medium oil volume. If you're a stroker or throw at moderate ball speed, it gives you the option to play deeper lines, since the shell saves energy while the asymmetric core provides the massive response off the spot. The tremendous drive toward the pocket should deliver convincing carry. On fresh, extremely heavy oil, however, this ball can lack traction because of the polished finish. It's a weapon for open angles.
