BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Ebonite Verdict Pearl was released in January 2018 as a complement to the original Verdict and comes in a visually striking color blend of smoke, blue and orange. Inside sits the Justice core, a solid asymmetric core developed specifically for high energy retention and a strong backend. With a 2.48 RG, a 0.055 differential and a 0.018 intermediate differential at 15 pounds, this ball is built for maximum dynamics. The cover is the GSV-1 Pearl coverstock, a technologically advanced material blend intended to minimize friction through the heads. Out of the box the ball ships with a 500/1000 Abralon finish that is then treated with Powerhouse Factory Finish Polish to create a glossy surface for long skid phases.
Comparison Compared directly to the Ebonite Verdict (solid), the Verdict Pearl offers noticeably more length through the heads and a distinctly more angular change of direction at the breakpoint. Where the solid version reads the oil very early and makes a controlled arcing move, the Verdict Pearl saves all of its rotational energy for the end of the lane. Placed next to the Storm Phaze II, the Verdict Pearl shows a more aggressive entry angle and a stronger response to friction thanks to its asymmetric Justice core, while the Phaze II is more controlled and rounder through the whole lane. Compared to the Ebonite Game Breaker 3, the Verdict Pearl offers substantially more overall hook and higher backend speed. Against other asymmetric pearl balls such as the Columbia 300 Tyrant Pearl, the Verdict Pearl shows a more stable midlane presence, which makes it less prone to sliding through the breakpoint with light oil carrydown.
On the Lanes The Ebonite Verdict Pearl is designed primarily for medium to heavy oil conditions and shines especially once the lanes start to break down and a cleaner skid phase through the heads is needed. Thanks to the polished GSV-1 Pearl surface, it should have the ability to cover burned-up boards in the heads and still drive into the pocket with enough power. It is the ideal choice if you like to play deep inside-out and want an explosive reaction at the end of the pattern. On typical house shots the Verdict Pearl allows a very aggressive line, with the asymmetric core helping to ensure excellent carry even from extreme angles. Once the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up considerably, the ball stays stable enough to travel long distances, though on extremely dry conditions it should be used with control to avoid overreacting at the breakpoint.
