BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Brunswick Vaporize was introduced in August 2024 as the counterpart to the Mesmerize and represents the shiny, high-reaction side of the dual-release concept. Finished in a "Carbon" color scheme, the Vaporize sees Brunswick take a different development approach than usual: instead of a new core, they went with the proven Zone Asymmetric core, which was already used in legendary Brunswick balls like the Vapor Zone and had established itself as a favorite. The core numbers show a low RG of 2.478, a differential of 0.048 and an intermediate differential of 0.017. The real innovation lies in the coverstock technology: the HK22C-Evo Pearl combines the HK22 base with the Cohesion additive as well as the Evo Pearl additives, and is meant to set a new standard for shiny ball performance. Brunswick calls this combination a breakthrough for pearl balls, since it should allow more traction in oil without sacrificing explosive backend motion. The factory surface of 500/1000/1500 SiaAir with Crown Factory Compound gives the ball a certain amount of aggressiveness despite the pearl formulation. The core is wrapped in DynamiCore2 technology, previously used exclusively in the Quantum series, which should provide improved hitting power and durability.
Comparison The Vaporize positions itself as a modern remake and direct replacement for the classic Vapor Zone, upgraded significantly by DynamiCore2 and the advanced HK22C coverstock technology. Compared directly to Brunswick's Quantum Evo Pearl, the Vaporize should build more midlane traction while showing a smoother, more controllable reaction at the breakpoint, whereas the Quantum Evo Pearl typically goes longer and reacts harder. Against highly reactive balls like the Brunswick Quantum Evo Response, the Beyond Infinity or the Mindset releases, the Vaporize shows a gentler move at the breakpoint, which makes it more versatile. Within the Brunswick lineup, the Vaporize complements the Mesmerize perfectly: while the Mesmerize is designed as an aggressive solid ball for fresh, oily conditions, the Vaporize offers more length through the heads along with a strong but controlled backend reaction. Compared to the original Vapor Zone with its Activator Plus 2.0 cover, the new Vaporize brings noticeably more midlane traction thanks to the Cohesion additive, without losing the characteristic hockey-stick motion that defines Brunswick balls built on the Zone Asymmetric core.
On the Lanes The Vaporize is primarily suited to medium to medium-heavy oil conditions and shows its strengths especially once the lanes have gone through some transition and the fresh conditions start to open up. The combination of pearl cover and more aggressive surface lets the ball generate clean length through the heads, while the Cohesion additive provides more midlane traction than typical pearl balls would offer. Particularly noteworthy is the ball's ability to still work powerfully through the pins even on shots missed toward the middle of the lane, something that often leads to a flat hit with longer pearl balls. The Vaporize shows a characteristically strong arc that could almost be described as a skid-flip motion, yet stays controllable. If you're speed-dominant, the ball offers the long-awaited combination of length and a reliable return to the pocket. The Vaporize works on house shots as well as on sport patterns and allows you to play a variety of angles – from straighter lines on fresher conditions to more open angles as the transition progresses. Designed as a complement or step-down to the Mesmerize, the Vaporize takes over when more length is needed or when carrydown starts to become a factor. The characteristic "hockey-stick" motion recalls some of the most successful Brunswick balls of the past and offers a reaction shape that should appeal to tournament and league bowlers alike.
