Technically, this symmetrical ball is built around the SWAG Unreal Core with an RG of 2.51 and a differential of 0.047. That combination produces a high flare potential of 4-5 inches. The ball is fitted with the reactive Never Quit Solid coverstock, which ships from the factory at 1500 grit polished. This surface prep gives the ball a remarkable combination of length and backend reaction. The Unreal core design with its reflective symmetry stands out compared to traditional core shapes. Despite the symmetrical construction, the core offers convincing energy storage, which shows up in powerful pin action. The ball's thicker outer shell additionally contributes to improved durability and provides efficient energy transfer to the pins, especially on higher hits on the headpin.

Comparison
In direct comparison, the Unreal positions itself as a high-quality alternative to the Phase II and similar symmetrical benchmark balls. At identical surface prep, the Unreal shows a noticeably earlier hook phase and a stronger overall hook than comparable symmetrical models. The factory polish, however, produces a longer skid down the lane, which can lead to an over/under reaction for speed-dominant bowlers. Testing has shown that the ball's full potential only comes through after adjusting the surface. With the polish removed and a plain 1500 grit surface applied, the Unreal shows noticeably more controlled behavior with an earlier friction response and a more continuous roll phase. Even after this adjustment, the ball retains a powerful backend with pronounced continuation through the pins. Compared to the Swag Black Dragon (asymmetrical) and other stronger models, the Unreal offers more versatility and is better suited to medium to heavy oil conditions.

On the Lanes
The Unreal proves to be an exceptionally versatile ball that adapts to different bowler types. If you're speed-dominant, adjusting the surface by removing the polish is recommended, which lets the ball find traction earlier and gives a more controlled reaction shape. For balanced players, the Unreal works excellently as a benchmark ball, delivering consistent reactions across various lane conditions. If you're rev-dominant, the factory 1500 grit polished surface provides enough length to avoid hooking up too early. The Unreal shows its strengths especially on medium to heavy oil patterns, where its combination of controlled midlane behavior and powerful backend comes into play. Through the transition phase the ball maintains its characteristic reaction, which allows for longer use over the course of a game. The ball's high carry, particularly on higher hits on the headpin, leads to better results especially on lanes with Twister pins. The Unreal's uniqueness lies in its adaptability - through simple surface modifications such as applying 800 grit or 2000 grit, the ball's reaction profile can be tuned specifically to different lane conditions and personal preferences, making it an indispensable part of any advanced bowling arsenal.
