BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
Released in March 2017, the Motiv United Revolt marks an important milestone in the manufacturer's history, since it was the very first pearl ball in the celebrated Revolt series. Visually, the ball stands out immediately thanks to its striking color scheme in Concrete Grey and Radioactive Lime Pearl. Inside works the proven symmetrical Vanquish core, which already established the success of its predecessors (Covert Revolt, Revolt Havoc). At 15 pounds, this core delivers extremely aggressive numbers for a symmetrical ball: a very low 2.47 RG and a massive 0.056 differential. This combination produces a very early revving up and enormous flare potential. Wrapped around it all is the new Helix HFP (High Friction Pearl) reactive coverstock. Out of the box, the ball comes with a 5000 grit LSP (Laser Scan Polished) finish. This technical configuration aims to combine the early roll characteristics of the Vanquish core with the length of a pearl shell, in order to create a strong reaction on medium to heavy oil that still gets cleanly through the heads.
Comparison Compared directly to the Motiv Revolt Havoc (solid), which was known as an extreme "snowplow" model for early traction, the United Revolt offers considerably more length and energy retention. Where the Havoc steamrolls the lane, the United Revolt glides through the heads and saves its energy for an explosive move at the end of the pattern. Compared to the Motiv Primal Fear (which has an asymmetric core), the United Revolt often comes across as rounder and more continuous. The Primal Fear is more angular ("snappy"), while the United Revolt describes a more controlled but still very powerful curve thanks to the symmetrical low-RG core. It fills the gap between the very early Revolt Havoc and weaker pearl balls like the Octane. Essentially, it is a polished, longer version of the Covert Revolt that handles broken-down lanes better.
On the Lanes The Motiv United Revolt is made for medium to heavier oil conditions and shines especially during the transition phase. It is not a typical "dry lane pearl" — the core is far too strong for that (2.47 RG). Its strength lies in being played deep in the oil. When strong solid balls like the Jackal Ghost or the Trident start to hook too early and lose energy, the United Revolt is the perfect follow-up. Thanks to the polish it ignores heads that have already been played in a bit, but with the strong core and the "High Friction Pearl" shell it still reads the midlane aggressively enough not to slide past the breakpoint. It offers the security of a benchmark ball with the angle potential of a pearl ball. An ideal ball if you're looking for a little more length on fresh oil, or if you need to step down during a tournament block without giving up core dynamics.
