Technically, the ball is based on the Ghost Trail Reactive coverstock, a reactive shell developed specifically for the transition from polyester to reactive balls. Inside sits the symmetrical The Source core. The specs for the 15-pound model are a 2.58 RG and a 0.024 differential. This combination points to a controlled flare potential and a moderately smooth ball motion, with the cover designed to skid cleanly through the heads.
Comparison Compared to high-end balls like the Storm Phaze II, the ProBowl Undercover Pearl shows a noticeably lower overall reaction and a later start to its move. Where a Storm Phaze II already begins working hard in the midlane, the Undercover Pearl is optimized to stay under the radar and save its energy for the backend. Within its class, it is comparable to the Brunswick Twist or the Columbia 300 Beast. Against a pure polyester ball like the Columbia 300 White Dot, however, the Undercover Pearl offers considerably more friction and a noticeable change of direction as soon as it reaches the end of the oil pattern.
