First Impressions
The 900 Global Truth Tour was released in March 2018 as a specialized addition to the Truth series and comes in a plain, single-color black look. Technically, the ball is built around the symmetric Adaptor Core, which was modified for this model to allow an extremely controlled release of energy. In the 15-pound version, the core carries an RG of 2.48 and a low differential of 0.034. This combination of low RG and reduced differential is designed to produce a calmer, more stable roll. The coverstock is S74R Solid Reactive, dulled at the factory to a 2000 grit Abralon finish. This surface should ensure reliable traction in oil without losing the predictability at the breakpoint that is typical of Tour models.
Comparison Compared to the original 900 Global Truth, the Truth Tour offers a noticeably calmer backend reaction and a more controlled overall motion. Where the original Truth generates more flare and a more aggressive change of direction thanks to its higher differential, the Truth Tour is optimized to keep the motion "out in front." Set against the Storm IQ Tour Solid, the industry standard for symmetric control balls, the Truth Tour shows very similar characteristics. However, the S74R cover gives it a slightly stronger midlane presence, which makes it more stable on a bit more oil volume than the IQ Tour. Compared to the Roto Grip IDOL, the Truth Tour is considerably less sensitive to friction and describes a much rounder arc, while the IDOL jumps off the midlane more aggressively. Against the 900 Global Honey Badger Teal, the Truth Tour offers no angular reaction at all and instead focuses purely on controlling the line on demanding patterns.
On the Lanes The ideal application for the 900 Global Truth Tour is on medium oil conditions and especially on difficult sport patterns, where miss room matters more than maximum hook power. The low differential keeps flare potential limited, which results in an extremely stable and predictable lane read. That makes it a first choice if you have trouble controlling the breakpoint on fresh or uneven oil patterns. It lets you play a more direct line to your target without the ball breaking off unpredictably when it contacts dry spots. If you have a high rev rate, the Truth Tour is an indispensable tool for navigating the heads when more aggressive balls overreact. On typical house shots it can serve as an excellent benchmark ball for testing the lane. On very heavy oil volume, though, the ball will reach its limits because of the low differential, since it lacks the dynamic power to recover out of deep oil. In the pocket it stands out with a steady transfer of power that produces very consistent carry. All in all, the Truth Tour is a precision tool for bowlers looking for maximum control and classic Tour performance.
