BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Radical Triton Elite, a significant release in 2019, positions itself as the technical successor to the popular Intel series and targets the benchmark segment. Visually, the ball stands out with its eye-catching color combination of blue, silver and pink, finished with a dull 500/1000/2000 Siaair Micro Pad. That rough surface signals traction right away. Technically, the ball is built on the Forged 2 Solid coverstock, a further development of the shell that already proved successful on the Katana Slash. Inside works a symmetrical weight block (Triton Core), which at 15 lbs shows an RG of 2.513 and a differential of 0.046. One distinctive feature at Radical is the use of carbon fiber in the filler material to increase durability against pin impacts. The core also uses the familiar Finger Scoop Technology, which allows the driller to significantly influence the ball's dynamics through the choice of layout. The combination of a solid cover and a symmetrical core promises a controllable but strong motion that neither rolls too early nor reacts too late.
Comparison
Compared to the Radical Squatch, released shortly before and offering a very polished pearl reaction (skid/flip), the Triton Elite is noticeably rounder and earlier in its motion. Where the Squatch skids through the heads and turns hard at the end, the Triton Elite already starts working in the midlane and smooths out the breakpoint. Compared with the market standard for symmetrical solids, the Storm Phaze II, the Triton Elite shows similar overall strength but often appears a touch cleaner through the first few feet of the heads before transitioning into a very heavy, continuous roll. Against the Radical Conspiracy (asymmetrical), the Triton Elite is less aggressive in oil and offers more control on the backend. It serves as an ideal step-down when the Conspiracy hooks too early. Compared to a Brunswick Melee Jab (pearl), the Triton Elite provides considerably more safety on fresh oil thanks to its dull solid surface and reacts less sensitively to over/under situations.
On the Lanes
The Radical Triton Elite is the classic benchmark ball for medium oil patterns and typical house leagues. It's often the first ball you pull out of the bag to read the lane conditions. Thanks to the Forged 2 Solid coverstock it offers enough traction not to skid on fresh oil, while the symmetrical core provides a predictable reaction without any sudden jumps. Its strength lies in continuity: it retains its energy through the pins extremely well and is famous for its strong carry, especially on off-hits. The ball works excellently for blending wet/dry walls, since it doesn't overreact in the dry friction and doesn't look dead in the oil in the middle. For extremely dry conditions it's too strong because of the dull surface, and for massive amounts of oil it may lack that last bit of asymmetry of a high-performance ball, but for everything in between it's an all-purpose weapon.
