BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Trend comes in an eye-catching Aqua/Sapphire/Teal color scheme and is the fourth product of the successful collaboration between Storm and Jason Belmonte. The ball has a 2.52 RG in 15 pounds with a 0.049 differential, giving it medium flare characteristics. At its heart is the proven Piston Core, paired with the legendary R2S Pearl Reactive coverstock, which comes out of the box at 1500-grit polished. The surface also gives the ball a blueberry scent, making it unmistakable in sensory terms as well.
Comparison
The R2S coverstock is already familiar from successful balls like the Storm Hy-Road, Frantic and IQ Tour, and it produces the ball motion characteristic of the pearl category. The Piston Core originally comes from the Storm Pro-Motion and has proven to be well balanced, with a lower RG and a slightly smaller differential than the Dual-Drive core from the Storm Timeless and Drive. Compared to other Storm signature balls, the Trend should be the strongest option in the signature line. The R2S formulation is known for getting through the heads with unmatched backend movement.
On the Lanes
The Storm Trend is designed for medium to heavy oil volumes and shows its strengths especially where other balls would grab too early. The ball glides effortlessly through the lane and generates plenty of backend motion, though on fresh conditions it worked best on the drier test patterns. Its extreme length combined with an extremely quick response to dry boards makes it an interesting option for players with a range of speeds and rev rates. Regardless of rev rate or bowling style, the Trend should deliver a quicker response and a more defined breakpoint, which should result in better carry. The extreme backend movement makes it a natural for later in the game, when you can throw it well away from the pocket and take advantage of the down-lane angle.
