BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Ebonite The One Giant is a bowling ball released on the international market in March 2026, continuing the successful The One series with a clear focus on maximum traction. At the heart of the ball works the proven Centrex Symmetrical Mass Bias core. Despite the name, this is an asymmetric design characterized by its pronounced mass bias. At a ball weight of 15 pounds, this core shows a very low RG value of 2.466. That figure, combined with an extremely high differential of 0.056 and a mass bias differential of 0.027, is a clear indicator of a strong engine. These aggressive numbers should ensure that the ball revs up quickly in the heads and develops enormous flare potential. This engine is wrapped in the new HK22C - GB 15.1 Solid coverstock. With its heavily textured factory finish of 500, 1000 and 1500 Siaair Micro Pad, the cover offers tremendous pulling power in oil. The modification of the HK22C base is specifically designed to build reliable traction even in the heaviest oil volumes. The GB 15.1 additive aims to intensify the chemical interaction with the lane surface. Visually, the ball presents itself as a functional solid that concentrates its performance in the hard technical data and the powerful core-cover interplay.
Comparison Using the Storm Absolute as a reference for an asymmetric high-performance ball, clear conceptual differences emerge. While the Storm ball, with its cover, tends to slide slightly across the boards in the heads and use the saved energy for a sharp move off the backend, the Ebonite The One Giant behaves fundamentally differently. Its rough solid surface forces it into the roll phase considerably earlier, so it creates friction noticeably sooner on the lane and shows a more controlled ball motion. Compared with an in-house predecessor such as the Ebonite The One Remix, the technological leap of the HK22C base becomes apparent. Thanks to this modern cover technology, The One Giant should maintain a more pronounced and more continuous move toward the pins despite its massive traction in the front third of the lane. Against a typical symmetric benchmark ball like the Storm Phaze II, the asymmetric core of The One Giant offers a significantly higher degree of asymmetric torque. As a result, the ball stays more robust when the oil pattern changes subtly and drives more decisively into the pocket instead of slipping on high oil volume.
On the Lanes Because of its strongly gripping solid surface and the torque-heavy asymmetric core, the Ebonite The One Giant is ideally suited to freshly oiled lanes, long oil patterns and conditions with high oil volume. For anyone looking for a reliable option to navigate through heavy oil and get an early reaction, this model is a strategically valuable choice. It particularly supports player types with higher ball speed or a lower rev rate, since the early read of the rough surface and the quickly revving core generate the necessary hook all on their own. Once the transition sets in over the course of competition and the front part of the lane dries up, however, the ball quickly becomes too aggressive. Due to the extreme friction, The One Giant burns up its energy prematurely in those drier zones. This shows up as a flatter entry angle and noticeably weaker carry. In these phases it is essential to switch to balls with smoother cover materials or higher RG values in order to create the required length again. As long as the oil conditions remain intact, though, the ball offers excellent control across the boards and enormous hitting power. In addition, the surface can be adjusted as needed by fine sanding or polishing, should the factory specification react minimally too early on your home lanes.
