BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Ebonite Stinger Hybrid comes in Emerald Pearl/Navy and relies on a proven technical combination of the new symmetric Stinger core with medium RG and low differential together with the Detonator 2020 Hybrid coverstock. The specs list a 2.517 RG, a 0.035 differential and a 0.000 intermediate differential at 15 pounds. The surface is finished with 500/1000 Siaair and polished with Crown Factory Compound, which creates a smooth and reactive basis for the ball motion. This new core is paired with the Detonator 2020 base cover and, after the successful launch of the Omni and Allure, should close further performance gaps in the Ebonite lineup.
Comparison
Compared to stronger Ebonite models, the Stinger Hybrid shows a distinctly different character. While the Ebonite Magic Touch was developed as a high performance ball for medium to heavy oil conditions, the Stinger Hybrid is a mid performance ball for medium to dry conditions. The Stinger does not have as much hook potential and reacts somewhat later down the lane, while the Magic Touch offers stronger hook potential and reads the lane earlier. The numbers confirm that positioning: the medium RG value and the low differential produce a controlled reaction, which together with the Stinger Pearl establishes a strong 1-2 combination for medium to dry lanes. The symmetric construction sets it apart from more aggressive asymmetric designs in the high-end segment.
On the Lanes
The Stinger Hybrid generates a strong midlane reaction and backend action on light or dry oil conditions and should deliver a strong midlane read with a powerful backend hook. The hybrid cover offers a balanced mix of length and traction, which makes it attractive for a variety of player types. This combination should produce excellent performance on medium to light oil conditions and be appreciated by pros and league bowlers alike. If you need a predictable reaction as the lanes break down, you'll benefit in particular from its controlled characteristics. The ball should offer exceptional performance and value, closing performance gaps without a big financial hit. The polished surface can be adjusted as needed to increase traction or optimize length. For maintenance, Ebonite recommends Powerhouse Clean N' Dull to ensure the best performance.
