First Impressions
The Brunswick Stellar is a three-color ball in Royal/Ice/Black and was released on July 30, 2021. It uses Brunswick's popular Versa Max core in a symmetric design, paired with the hybrid Activator Plus 2.0 coverstock. The specs show a high RG of 2.540 and a high differential of 0.052 for 15-pound balls. The factory surface is 500, 1000, 1500 SiaAir Micro Pad with Crown Factory Compound. The ball features Brunswick's DynamiCore technology, which adds durability and produces less compression at impact, increasing hitting power and supposedly improving carry. Comparison
Compared to the Brunswick Melee Jab Midnight Blue, the Stellar can be played two boards farther right and holds the outside line longer than the Knock Out and Zenith Hybrid. Compared to the Brunswick Melee Jab Blood Red, the Stellar goes longer through the heads and is less sensitive to oil, while the Blood Red gets into a roll earlier. The ball motion resembles the Brunswick Hero, but slightly earlier and stronger. The backend motion shows similarities to the Brunswick Zenith Pearl. It has been described as an updated version of the Storm Hyroad and should suit all styles of play. In terms of reaction, it slots in between the Brunswick Hero and the Brunswick Fearless. On the Lanes
The Stellar is designed for medium to dry lane conditions and works especially well on medium to even medium-dry conditions. It is ideal for medium patterns, lower oil volumes, or later in a block of six or more games. The ball ignores the front part of the lane and does its work mainly in the transition and on the backend. It offers very clean length through the heads with a strong but controllable backend motion. It is an excellent ball for medium conditions and a good choice when stronger balls lose too much energy. As a ball-down option from the Midnight Blue Jab, it shows its versatility. It also handles a bit of oil in the heads without reacting too early.
