First Impressions
Released in June 2022, the Track Stealth marks the return of a symmetrical heavyweight to the Track lineup. Visually the ball stays understated in a dark "Raven" colorway, but the specs speak an aggressive language. At the center spins the newly developed Stealth Core. This symmetrical core has a low 2.48 RG and an extremely high differential of 0.056 (at 15 lbs). A differential this high is unusual for symmetrical balls and sits close to the allowed maximum, which points to massive flare potential. Wrapped around this engine is the QR-9 Solid Reactive coverstock. The surface comes out of the box with a 1500 Siaair Micro Pad finish, which gives the ball noticeable texture and ensures that it anchors early in the oil instead of skidding.
Comparison
The most obvious rival in this category is the legendary Storm Phaze II. Both balls are symmetrical solids with low RG values and a matte finish. Head to head, the Track Stealth's higher differential (0.056 vs. 0.051 on the Phaze II) often produces even stronger motion through the midlane and tends to make a bit more "belly," meaning it flares earlier. Compared to the Track Paragon, which uses an asymmetrical core, the Stealth is a little cleaner through the heads but offers a similarly strong overall motion, just with a rounder, more continuous arc on the backend. It is clearly stronger and offers more traction than a Track Legion Solid and positions itself as the more aggressive alternative to balls like the Storm Idol Helios.
On the Lanes
The Track Stealth is the classic "benchmark ball" for medium to heavy oil volume. It is often the first ball out of the bag to read the lane. Thanks to the coarse 1500 surface, it smooths out overreaction on fresh oil (over/under) and provides enormous control at the breakpoint. It is not a ball for dry lanes or burned-up heads, since it would lose energy too early there. Its strength is opening up the pocket on fresh patterns and forgiving speed mistakes, because the strong core gets the ball rolling reliably. If you like the feel of a Storm Phaze II but are looking for a touch more overall hook, the Stealth is an excellent option.
