First Impressions
Released in June 2023, the Track Stealth Pearl is the logical extension of the Stealth series, known for its strong symmetric performance. Visually, the ball looks very modern and technical in its Carbon, Chrome and Violet color combination. At the center of the ball works the proven Stealth Core. This symmetric weight block stands out from the crowd with its unusual numbers: a relatively high RG of 2.554 (at 15 lbs) supports effortless length through the front part of the lane, while the extremely high differential of 0.060 provides massive flare potential. This combination is rare, since high RG values are often paired with a lower differential. This dynamic core is wrapped in the QR-9 Pearl coverstock (Quick Response), finished out of the box with 500/1000/1500 Siaair and Factory Compound. The result is a ball that glides very easily through the heads and stores a lot of energy for the backend.
Comparison
The most important reference is the original Track Stealth (Solid). While the solid version was designed for an early, even arc and plenty of control in oil, the Stealth Pearl behaves almost the opposite way: it ignores early friction completely and generates its motion almost exclusively in the back part of the lane. Thanks to the high 0.060 differential, however, the Stealth Pearl flares considerably more than many other symmetric pearl balls, such as the Storm Phaze V. This gives it an "asymmetric feel" at the breakpoint, since it stands up very quickly. Compared to the Track Kinetic Black Ice, which also uses a high-RG design, the Stealth Pearl is substantially more aggressive in overall hook due to the much higher differential and covers more boards. Against an Ebonite Emerge (asymmetric), the Stealth Pearl is a bit rounder through the transition but offers a comparable finishing motion.
On the Lanes
The Track Stealth Pearl is an excellent choice for medium oil conditions and lanes going through their transition phases. When the heads start to break down and solid balls begin losing energy too early, this ball is the perfect solution. Thanks to the high RG, it gets through the burned-up areas without trouble. The massive flare potential, though, makes sure that fresh cover material is always touching the oil, which minimizes the risk of "over/under" reactions (skidding in the oil) that pearl balls can often show. It lets you open up the angles wide and play the pocket from far left, because the core has enough torque to come back energetically even out of steep angles. If you have a lower rev rate, the high differential helps you still create plenty of backend motion.
