First Impressions
The Radical Spare Ball turns every head with its deep, transparent, crystal-clear design. At its center works a simple 3-piece pancake core with an extremely high RG and a very low differential. This core is wrapped in a pure polyester/plastic coverstock finished with an extreme high-gloss polish. The high RG makes the core rotate very late, which in combination with the smooth cover should let the ball glide completely safely through the heads and produce an absolutely reactionless motion.
Comparison
Compared directly with reactive balls, the Radical Spare Ball shows completely flat ball motion, delivers zero traction at the breakpoint and a perfectly dead-straight reaction at the end of the pattern. Against the Storm Ice Storm, the Spare Ball's polyester shell offers an exactly identical, non-existent hook. When transition changes the lane and dry spots appear, the smooth surface keeps the ball from jumping off uncontrollably. It reacts entirely passively.
On the Lanes
The Radical Spare Ball is most at home as the perfect spare ball on any lane condition. It's an outstanding option if you're looking for a flat, predictable ball motion when you have to clear single pins. The core creates no angle at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing extremely direct lines. The ball should secure your carry on spares through its consistent entry. For your first ball on strikes, however, it is absolutely useless.
