First Impressions
The Brunswick Soul Mate comes in an eye-catching pearl color blend. Inside works the symmetrical Soul Core, which shows a 2.535 RG and a moderate 0.041 differential. For the surface, Brunswick relies on the CPR Pearl Reactive cover, polished to a high gloss out of the box. This combination of an extremely consistent motor and the low-friction pearl shell should let the ball glide very cleanly through the heads and build a very late but controlled roll phase in the backend.

Comparison
Compared directly to the Brunswick Soul, which uses a dull solid cover, the Soul Mate delivers a far longer skid phase and a more angular hook at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Tropical Breeze, the Soul Mate offers more flare potential in the midlane thanks to its slightly stronger differential. When friction on the lane is high and the transition dries up the front part of the lane, the Soul Mate retains its energy very well and reacts predictably toward the pin deck.

On the Lanes
The Brunswick Soul Mate is best suited to lane conditions with light to medium oil volume. For strokers and bowlers with moderate ball speed, it offers the chance to play direct lines, since the cover saves energy. The steady drive toward the pocket should deliver convincing carry. On fresh, heavy oil, however, this ball can come up short on traction because of the polished finish.
