BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Solar Parallax shows up in an attractive color combination of purple, orange, and steel, and features the proven Aeroflo core technology paired with the NRG-3 Pearl Reactive coverstock in a standard 1500-grit polished finish. The specs list an RG of 2.52, a differential of 0.054, and an asymmetric differential of 0.019 for 15-pound balls. At the heart of the ball sits the Aeroflo core, which uses an elliptical hole filled with lighter core material to produce a higher RG than is typical for asymmetric balls. The strategically positioned indentations on the Z-axis, 6 3/4" from the pin, simulate the effect of an extra hole and keep the intermediate differential in a more manageable range. Comparison
The Solar Parallax is built on the same Aeroflo core as the original Storm Parallax, but it is designed to be especially explosive off the backend. The ball's pearlized and polished character should deliver the most extreme backend angles the industry has ever seen. The NRG-3 Pearl Reactive coverstock is a brand-new variation, developed as an exciting evolution of the proven NRG technology. Compared to balls like the Storm Parallax or Storm Parallax Effect, the pearl cover gives the Solar Parallax a longer skid phase and a stronger backend reaction. The combination of the Aeroflo core and NRG-3 Pearl should create a noticeably more aggressive change of direction than the hybrid versions in the Parallax line. On the Lanes
With the 1500-grit polished finish, the Solar Parallax grabs in the midlane, lines up with its preferred axis of rotation, and unloads a powerful hit on the backend to create a monumental breakpoint back to the pocket. When slick lane conditions become a problem, the NRG-3 technology and its improved traction should provide ultimate control over the lane. The ball is conceived as a "house shot killer" and is aimed particularly at bowlers in the overseas market. The specifications place the ball in the medium to heavy oil category. The Solar Parallax is ideal if you are looking for a clean ride through the heads with an explosive backend reaction at medium to higher oil volumes. Thanks to the asymmetric build and the pearl characteristics, it is especially well suited to bowlers who prefer big angles and strong changes of direction, but who also need control and predictability.
