First Impressions
The DV8 Shanpire Spare comes in an extremely eye-catching, dark graphic design with a vampire motif. At the center of this model beats a traditional symmetric 3-piece pancake core with an extremely high RG and a very low differential. The outer layer consists of a hard polyester coverstock, polished to a high gloss out of the box. This combination of a weak motor and a non-reactive plastic surface should keep the ball gliding extremely predictably and dead straight down the lane.

Comparison
Compared to reactive balls, the Shanpire Spare doesn't grab at all and offers no hook whatsoever at the breakpoint. Against other spare balls such as the Storm Ice Storm, the Shanpire produces an identical, dead-straight motion. Once the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up completely, the ball remains entirely unaffected. It calls for direct lines, since it builds zero friction and forces no change of direction at all.

On the Lanes
The DV8 Shanpire Spare finds its preferred use as a pure spare ball. It's the perfect choice if you need a ball on any pattern that isn't influenced by oil or dry lanes. The completely passive reaction helps you ignore the breakpoint and aim directly at single pins. The ball should make sure that carry on spares is secured through accuracy. For the first ball at strikes, it's of no use.
