First Impressions
The Ebonite Salute arrives in a bold color combination of Blue and Silver Hybrid Pearl. At the heart of this model sits the symmetrical Adrenaline Core, which features a 2.500 RG and a strong 0.056 differential. The cover is the Adrenaline Hybrid Reactive coverstock, finished with a polish out of the box. The low RG gets the core revving up very quickly, while the smooth cover should let the ball glide through the heads with a lot of certainty and save massive traction for the backend.
Comparison
Compared to the Ebonite Adrenaline Overload with its dull solid cover, the Salute grabs noticeably later and offers a considerably more angular, sharper reaction at the breakpoint. Next to the Storm Phaze II, the Salute generates a hard-hitting motion in the drier area that snaps aggressively toward the pins at the breakpoint. As soon as the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, the Salute benefits enormously from its hybrid cover. It wants friction in order to show off its dynamics.
On the Lanes
The Ebonite Salute finds its preferred territory on medium to lighter lane conditions. It is the perfect choice if you need a ball on broken-down patterns that slides easily through the heads and creates an aggressive hook toward the pocket. The late reaction helps you avoid missing the breakpoint when you're playing from deep inside. The ball should maximize carry through its sharp drive. On extremely heavy oil, however, this ball is often too slippery.
