First Impressions
The DV8 Ruckus Schizo shows up in an extremely eye-catching Red, Blue and Black Pearl color combination. The heart of this model is the asymmetric Ruckus Core, which features a 2.520 RG, a strong 0.050 differential and a 0.012 intermediate differential. The cover is the grabby yet extremely polished Class 8G Pearl Reactive coverstock, brought to a high gloss out of the box. The medium RG lets the core rotate securely, while the smooth cover should make the ball glide extremely safely through the heads and turn over brutally in the backend.
Comparison
Compared to the original DV8 Ruckus with its solid cover, the Schizo grabs much later and offers a considerably more angular, tamer reaction at the breakpoint in the heads, but explodes in the backend. Against the Storm Snap Lock, the Schizo creates a very similar asymmetric motion on dry lanes. As soon as the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up completely, the Schizo is in its element. It wants friction.
On the Lanes
The DV8 Ruckus Schizo's preferred territory is medium lane conditions. It's the perfect choice if you need a ball on burned-up patterns that slides easily through the heads and produces a steady, massive asymmetric hook toward the pocket. The late reaction helps keep you from overthrowing the breakpoint. The ball should secure carry at wide angles. On fresh oil, however, this ball is unplayable and misses the pins.
