BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
Released in November 2018 as an international/exclusive release, the Motiv Royal Revolt is a genuine powerhouse for fans of classic layouts. It combines the legendary Vanquish core, the heart of the Revolt series, with the modern Coercion HFS (High Friction Solid) coverstock. Technically, the symmetric core delivers a low 2.47 RG at 15 lbs and a massive 0.056 differential, which produces extremely early revving and large flare potential. The Coercion HFS cover is a significant upgrade over the earlier Turmoil or Helix blends in the series and gives the Royal Revolt even more "teeth" in oil. The factory finish of 3000 grit LSS (Laser Scan Sanded) combined with the solid blue color underscores this ball's purpose: it should read the lane early, roll stably, and transfer massive energy into the pins.
Comparison
Within the lineup, the Royal Revolt is a clear step up from the popular Motiv Covert Revolt. While the Covert Revolt (Turmoil HFS) was already known for its early roll, the Royal Revolt grabs even earlier and harder in oil thanks to the more aggressive Coercion chemistry — the same one found on the Jackal Ghost. It comes across like a "symmetric Jackal Ghost": it offers nearly the same traction, but with the rounder, more controllable motion of a symmetric core. Compared to a Storm Phaze II, both play in the "heavy oil symmetricals" league, with the Royal Revolt often revving up a touch earlier thanks to its extremely low RG (2.47 vs. 2.48 on the Phaze II) and high differential, and rolling a shade "heavier" through the pin deck.
On the Lanes
The Motiv Royal Revolt is the ideal choice for fresh, oil-heavy lanes where control is the top priority. This isn't a ball that snaps wildly off the backend ("skid-flip"); instead it wins you over with a predictable, arcing motion that forgives mistakes. When asymmetric balls like the Jackal jump off the breakpoint too aggressively or the line becomes too hard to hold, the Royal Revolt brings the necessary calm to your game. It smooths out over-reacting backends and is perfectly suited for breaking down the lane or finding a safe pocket shot on demanding sport patterns. If you throw the ball fast, it's a lifesaver, because it reliably slows down and builds traction where other balls are still sliding.
