First Impressions
The Radical Results Solid comes in a red/blue color combination and uses the asymmetric Results core with DynamiCore technology. The specs for 15lbs list a 2.517 RG, a 0.044 differential and a 0.027 intermediate differential. The TS-1 (Textured Solid 1) coverstock ships with a 500/3000 Siaair Micro Pad surface. DynamiCore technology should provide a more durable outer material that produces less compression at impact, which in turn increases hitting power and delivers a distinctive sound along with better pin carry.
Comparison
According to experts, the Results Solid is considered the ball with the highest hook potential in the current bowling lineup, and the combination of midlane and backend performance is described as unique. Compared to other Radical balls such as the Zing, it shows a smoother breakpoint shape and more overall hook. Compared to the Storm Summit, the Results Solid is described as more aggressive in the midlane, while the Summit has a higher hook potential. The TS-1 surface should feel like it offers more traction than earlier matte balls such as the Radical Zing or The Closer. Like the Storm Phaze II, this is a solid cover with a matte surface, but the Results Solid should be rated the stronger of the two.
On the Lanes
The Results Solid is designed primarily for heavy oil conditions and is regarded as an ideal heavy oil ball. The 500/3000 SiaAir surface allows hook to develop on a variety of lane patterns, and the ball was usable on all four test patterns. The high 0.027 intermediate differential should create the characteristic midlane motion. Testing showed that polished surfaces can also increase length without compromising backend performance. The ball is designed without a balance hole and is meant to achieve the desired ball motion through modification of the total and intermediate differentials. Particularly well suited to national tournaments or difficult lane conditions where you're having trouble generating enough hook.
