BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Hammer Rebel Yell was released in November 2017 as an addition to the Rebel series, with the aim of maximizing backend aggressiveness. Visually, the ball catches the eye with a striking silver-and-black color combination, underlined by a high-gloss finish. Inside works the symmetrical Rebel core, engineered specifically with a weight distribution that keeps the ball from tipping over early and stores energy for the back end of the lane. In a 15-pound ball, the specs come in at a 2.48 RG and a 0.044 differential. For the coverstock, Hammer uses the Juiced Pearl Reactive material, finished at the factory with a 500/1000 Abralon surface plus a final Powerhouse Factory Finish polish. This combination signals a clear focus on length and a sharp angle off the breakpoint.
Comparison Within the Hammer lineup, the Rebel Yell stands in direct contrast to the original Hammer Rebel. While the original Rebel, with its solid cover, offers more traction through the midlane and shows a more continuous arc, the Rebel Yell is designed to almost completely ignore the heads and only respond to the friction at the end of the oil pattern. Compared to the Hammer Black Widow Gold, which uses the asymmetrical Gas Mask core, the Rebel Yell behaves more controlled through the transition thanks to its symmetrical core, but offers a similarly impressive change of direction at the breakpoint. Compared to the Storm Hy-Road Pearl, the Rebel Yell shows a somewhat stronger reaction in the midlane, since its RG is set lower, which helps it keep contact with the lane at higher oil volumes without giving up the backend reaction typical of a pearl.
On the Lanes The Hammer Rebel Yell is the ideal choice for medium oil conditions, when the lanes start to dry up and more length is required. It should let you send the ball well outside of the middle with the confidence that it will come back powerfully to the pocket. The combination of the low-RG core and the pearl cover avoids premature energy loss in the heads, which especially benefits you if you have moderate ball speed or a high rev rate. In practice, the ball shows a very clean run through the heads and explosive carry, since the stored energy transfers efficiently into the pins. It works excellently as a follow-up to solid balls when those react too early due to transition or lose punch in the backend. The Rebel Yell allows you to use the boards more effectively and play deeper angles without sacrificing control at the breakpoint.
