First Impressions
The Radical Rack Attack Solid comes in a solid red and black color blend. At its center works the symmetric Rack Attack Core, which features a high RG of 2.550 and a low differential of 0.024. This core is wrapped in a solid reactive coverstock finished with a matte 500 and 4000 Siaair surface. The high RG makes the core rotate late, while the rough cover should give the ball a very smooth, predictable and even motion across the entire lane.
Comparison
In a direct comparison with the Radical Rack Attack Pearl, the Solid shows noticeably more stable ball motion, delivers moderately more traction in oil and a considerably rounder reaction at the breakpoint. Compared to a ball like the Storm Pitch Blue, the Rack Attack Solid offers more overall hook thanks to its reactive shell. When the transition changes the lane and dry spots develop, the balanced surface keeps the ball from overreacting uncontrollably at the breakpoint. It reacts steadily, but forgivingly.
On the Lanes
The Radical Rack Attack Solid is most at home on dry to medium lane conditions. It's an excellent option if you're looking for a smooth and predictable ball motion when the lanes get squirrelly. The symmetric core creates a small, round angle at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing direct lines. The ball should secure carry through its consistent entry into the pocket. On a lot of oil, however, it slides through.
