BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm IQ Tour Sapphire presents itself as an elegant addition to the proven IQ Tour line. The Sapphire version is the most versatile pearl release in the entire IQ line, combining the familiar C3 Centripetal Control Core with the proven R2S Pearl cover — the formulation that made the original IQ Tour Pearl a legend. No core in bowling delivers a smoother, more consistent ball reaction than the C3 Centripetal Control Core. The specs match the well-known IQ Tour family with a 2.49 RG and a low 0.029 differential. The R2S cover is said to offer the highest coefficient of dry friction of any coverstock, which gives the Sapphire version its characteristic strength.
Comparison
The IQ Tour Sapphire is designed for nearly all lane conditions, except the slickest and driest. The clean, strong surface lets the ball get through the front part of the lane effortlessly and save plenty of energy for an impressive backend reaction. Compared to the original IQ Tour Pearl, the Sapphire version shows similar characteristics, but with the improved versatility of the newer formulation. While the classic IQ Tour comes very close to the Storm Special Agent, the Sapphire as a pearl version offers more length and a more pronounced backend motion. These traits position it between more aggressive solid versions such as the IQ Tour Edition and less aggressive pearl options from other manufacturers.
On the Lanes
The IQ Tour Sapphire works excellently as a versatile ball for a wide range of lane conditions and offers bowlers of every style a dependable option. The combination of a clean path through the front part of the lane and a strong backend reaction makes it an ideal tool for medium to heavy oil conditions. The low 0.029 differential provides controlled motion without excessive aggressiveness, while the proven C3 core keeps things predictable. Especially if you're a tournament bowler who needs a reliable ball for varying conditions, the Sapphire version should make an excellent addition. The pearl formulation also makes it interesting if you need more length than a solid version provides but still want strong backend performance. As an overseas version, it is approved for all USBC-sanctioned league and tournament play.
