BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm !Q Tour Emerald comes in an attractive emerald green color scheme as a re-release of the extremely popular gold !Q Tour Pearl, with the two balls differing in color only. Technically it is based on the proven C3 Centripetal Control core with a 2.49 RG and a 0.029 differential at 15 pounds, combined with the successful R2S Pearl coverstock. The factory finish is standard 1500-grit with polish, which should provide corresponding length and a strong angle off friction. It was released in June 2019.
Comparison
Compared to weaker options such as the Storm Hy-Road Pearl, the Emerald is less reactive to friction, which makes it the perfect alternative when those balls respond too strongly to the lane conditions. Paired with the Storm AstroPhysiX, which uses the same R2S Pearl coverstock but a stronger core, it forms an excellent combination. In terms of performance it sits between the Storm Idol Pearl and the Storm Halo Pearl, though with somewhat smoother ball motion. Compared to the Storm Marvel Pearl it proves a bit weaker, which calls for more direct lines.
On the Lanes
The low-flaring core and the polished surface make this ball ideal for medium oil conditions. It shows its strengths especially in later tournament stages or on very dry house conditions, when stronger options grab too early. While it works well for lower rev rates and speed-dominant players with a stronger layout and a scuffed-up surface, high rev players with high speed can also achieve impressive results. Its character is defined by length without an abrupt change of direction; instead it offers continuous drive through the backend and the pin deck. The !Q series stands for predictability and control, and the Emerald combines those traits with angularity, making it usable on both house shots and sport patterns.
