First Impressions
As an anniversary edition, the Storm !Q Tour 30 draws every eye with its extremely classy Black Pearl design. At its center works the legendary symmetrical C³ Centripetal Control Core, which comes with a 2.490 RG and an extremely low 0.029 differential. This core is wrapped in the world-famous R2S Pearl coverstock, finished at 1500 grit polished. The low RG lets the core rev up quickly, which in combination with the minimal flare potential and the pearl cover should let the ball clear the heads effortlessly and produce an unbelievably controllable, flat motion.
Comparison
In a direct comparison with the Storm IQ Tour Solid, which has a matte surface, the !Q Tour 30 shows a drastically later, somewhat longer skid phase and a slightly more angular but still very moderate reaction. Compared to the Storm Hy-Road Pearl, the !Q Tour 30 behaves much more quietly through the midlane, but because of the low differential it offers hardly any real flip. When the transition sets in over the course of a session and friction increases on the outside boards, the !Q Tour 30 is the perfect ball for avoiding overreaction on dry boards.
On the Lanes
The Storm !Q Tour 30 was developed specifically for use on medium to light lane conditions and short sport patterns. It lets you control the hook you need even on dried-up conditions in order to cross the boards safely. The symmetrical core should optimize carry through a steady, heavy entry angle into the pocket. For heavy, fresh oil this ball is completely unsuitable; it skids through massively and reaches the pins with little strength.
