First Impressions
The Radical Primo draws plenty of attention with its Blue and Silver solid/pearl hybrid design. Inside works a strong symmetrical motor, equipped with a 2.483 RG and a strong 0.048 differential. For the cover, Radical relies on a modified hybrid reactive coverstock, finished out of the box with 500 Siaair and Royal Compound. This combination of an extremely early-revving motor and a polished hybrid shell should let the ball clear the heads effortlessly and turn the corner hard and sharply in the backend.
Comparison
In a direct comparison with the Radical Primo Solid, which uses a matte cover, the original Primo shows drastically more length and a far more angular backend reaction. Against the Storm Hy-Road, the Primo's symmetrical core delivers a very similar weight distribution and a comparable punchy reaction at the breakpoint. When friction on the lane is high and transition dries up the front part of the lane, the Primo conserves its energy extremely effectively and reacts crisply.
On the Lanes
The Radical Primo is ideally suited to lane conditions with medium oil volume. For strokers and if you throw at moderate ball speed, it offers the chance to play deeper lines, since the cover saves energy while the strong core provides the response off the breakpoint. The steady drive toward the pocket should deliver convincing carry. On fresh, extremely heavy oil, however, this ball can come up short on traction because of the polished finish. It's a weapon for open angles.
