The Elite Predator Xmax presents itself as the Elite brand's high-performance pearl option, featuring the XF Gravitational Pearl coverstock driven by the asymmetric Titan Core. It was released in July 2021 with a 2000-grit polish as the factory finish. The specs show impressive numbers: 2.566 RG, 0.046 differential and 0.022 mass bias differential. This combination of a larger Titan core and asymmetric design should deliver exceptionally high flare potential. Compared directly to other high-performance balls, the Predator Xmax positions itself as an aggressive backend ball. The Elite Xmax Predator is conceived as a powerful ball that offers maximum hook potential and hitting power. Unlike solid versions such as the Storm Phaze II or the Brunswick Quantum Bias Pearl, the Xmax gets more length through the heads thanks to its pearl coverstock, while the asymmetric core provides explosive backend reaction. The particularly high RG and flare numbers mean the ball builds up speed relatively quickly from the midlane on. Compared to symmetric balls like the Roto Grip Idol Pearl, the Xmax shows considerably more angle potential due to its asymmetry. On the Lanes
Elite's Predator series is an excellent choice for competitive bowlers who need a solid option on lanes with heavy oil conditions. The polished surface allows the ball to skid down the lane before it hooks back to the pocket with authority. Because of the 0.022 mass bias differential, a strong layout is recommended to let this ball promote continuation through the midlane and ultimately to the pins. The Xmax is ideally suited to powerful bowlers with medium to high rev rates on medium to heavy oil patterns. The asymmetric design distributes the weight more unevenly and creates higher flare potential that grabs closer to the end of the lane, where maximum speed is needed. For beginners, the aggressive reaction could be too dominant.
