BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Pitch Red turns heads as an international special release with its bright red design. At its heart works the legendary symmetric Capacitor core, which features an extremely high RG of 2.570 and a very low differential of 0.022. This core is wrapped in a modified Control Pearl Urethane coverstock finished to a dull 1000 grit. The high RG makes the core rotate very late, which in combination with the urethane cover should let the ball pass through the heads effortlessly and produce an extremely smooth, predictable and flat motion.
Comparison
Compared directly to the Storm Pitch Black, which uses a pure solid urethane cover, the Pitch Red shows a slightly longer skid phase and a marginally more responsive reaction in the dry part of the lane. Against a reactive ball like the Storm IQ Tour Solid, the Pitch Red offers drastically less hook thanks to its urethane cover. When transition changes the lane and dry spots appear, the Pitch Red's cover keeps the ball from burning up energy with sharp edges at the breakpoint. It reacts in an extremely arcing manner.
On the Lanes
The Storm Pitch Red is most at home on extremely demanding, short sport patterns or bone-dry lane conditions. It's an outstanding option if you're looking for a flat and absolutely predictable ball motion when the lanes are unpredictable. The symmetric core creates a tiny, rounded angle at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing direct lines. The ball should secure carry through its consistent entry into the pocket. On a lot of oil, however, it simply slides through with no effect at all.
