BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
Released in October 2018, the DV8 Pitbull Bark is a true monster for heavy oil and sets a new benchmark in the "Pitbull" line. Inside works the proven Pitbull Low RG Asymmetric core, which with a 2.486 RG and a 0.055 differential (at 15 lbs) is extremely rev-happy and offers enormous flare potential. The key update comes in two parts: first, the new Composite Fang Max Solid Reactive coverstock is used, which is even grabbier than on its predecessors. Second, this is the first DV8 ball to use DynamiCore technology, which increases the durability of the outer shell and optimizes energy transfer to the pins ("carry"). The factory finish of 1000 Siaair Micro Pad gives the black/red/green ball an aggressive, matte texture that builds traction immediately and makes no compromises in oil.
Comparison
Compared directly to its siblings, the Pitbull Bite and the Pitbull Growl, the Bark positions itself as the undisputed alpha male. It reads the lane even earlier than the Pitbull Bite and offers 3 to 5 boards more total hook. While the Growl looks somewhat more defined at the breakpoint, the Bark is a pure "snowplow" that nothing can stop. Drawing an external comparison, the Pitbull Bark plays on the same level as heavyweights like the Storm Sure Lock or the Brunswick Kingpin Rule. It sets itself apart, however, through the Composite Fang Max cover, which even in the deepest oil doesn't tend to "burn up" but instead maintains a surprisingly continuous motion through the pin deck.
On the Lanes
The DV8 Pitbull Bark is a specialist for heavy oil and longer oil patterns. It's the first choice when you're playing on a flood and other balls just skid. Its strength lies in creating traction where there appears to be none. It works excellently if you throw the ball fast ("speed-dominant") and often have trouble getting the ball to get going early enough. On dry or medium lanes this ball is out of place, since it would burn up energy immediately and arrive without power. But when the lane is swimming, the Pitbull Bark is the tool to control your line and open up the pocket with brute force.
