First Impressions
The Columbia 300 Outlook Solid comes in an attractive Turquoise/Purple design and was released in December 2020. The ball uses the symmetric Outlook core with a 2.533 RG and a 0.047 differential, which should produce strong midlane reaction. The cover is Exciter Max Solid, a modified version of the popular Exciter coverstock from the Chaos line. The surface comes out of the box at 500/1000/2000 Siaair Micro Pad, which should let the ball develop earlier traction on the boards. The medium to higher RG and differential numbers point to a controlled but still powerful ball reaction.
Comparison
If you liked the Columbia 300 Chaos, you'll appreciate this ball too, since it shows similar characteristics. Compared to the original Columbia 300 Outlook, the solid version is a strong addition that makes it possible to move the hook point closer to you. The Exciter Max surface recalls the proven Exciter covers on the Chaos and Chaos Black balls, while the Outlook core with its medium RG works differently than the low-RG cores of the Chaos or Savage series. Even so, the ball feels like a symmetric version of the Columbia 300 Savage Life, which speaks for a proven ball reaction.

The Outlook Solid is designed for medium to heavier oil conditions and is meant to serve as a benchmark ball for Columbia 300 fans. It delivers strong but predictable ball motion and is often the first ball out of the bag. As a symmetric ball with a solid cover, it offers predictable motion, handles oil well without burning up too early or skidding too long, and hits powerfully after a controlled roll phase. The ball is a particularly good fit for league bowlers and responds well to surface changes — taking it to 4000 Abralon generates a few extra feet of length, which makes it usable for almost an entire match. If you throw at medium speed, you'll benefit especially from the versatility of this benchmark ball.
