The technical heart of the ball is the asymmetric Divergent core, which at 15 pounds shows a 2.491 RG and a 0.044 differential, while the 16-pound version has a 2.503 RG and a 0.042 differential. The N-Forcer SF Pearl Reactive coverstock is finished with 500 SiaAir and Crown Factory Compound and should deliver length and bite. As special features, DV8 integrates both Durability Optimization Technology DOT and DynamiCore for increased durability and better carry. The Night Prowler was released in August 2019 and is aimed primarily at medium oil conditions.

In direct comparison to the original DV8 Prowler, the Night Prowler uses the same asymmetric Divergent core construction, but relies on the new N-Forcer SF Pearl formulation instead of the original coverstock. This change results in noticeably increased angularity over the original Prowler. Where the original Prowler showed a smoother reaction, the Night Prowler offers more length and a more explosive move once it reaches friction.
