Inside works the dynamic Nexus Arrowhead core, which with a 2.50 RG and a 0.056 differential ensures very clean motion through the front part of the lane. The Addaptive f(P) Pearl cover is specifically tuned to store the ball's energy extremely efficiently. The nature of the surface, with a 1500 Siaair / High Gloss finish, supports this trait massively by letting the ball glide effortlessly through the heads without building friction early. Visually the ball is a real eye-catcher and immediately conveys that this model was designed primarily for later, sharper changes of direction. Comparing the Nexus ƒ(P) Pearl with the Storm Proton Physix, the glaring differences in backend reaction are immediately apparent. The Storm Proton Physix tends to read a bit earlier, while the Nexus ƒ(P) Pearl holds its energy a decisive fraction longer and then responds considerably more aggressively to the dry area. That trait makes it the perfect complement in the arsenal when the Proton Physix starts losing energy in the pocket or entering too flat. Although both balls are aimed at lighter oil patterns, the Nexus ƒ(P) Pearl offers a noticeably more dynamic angle. It is the ideal solution for situations in which the Proton Physix no longer generates enough drive, since it creates the necessary entry angle.
On the Lanes
This ball shows its greatest strength once the lane has been played in a little and the transition has clearly set in. It needs a certain amount of friction in the backend to develop its characteristic hook, which produces maximum, explosive carry.
