First Impressions
The Track Mx16 stands out with a classy blue and orange pearl look. Inside sits a modified asymmetric core with a medium RG and a massive differential. For the cover, Track relies on the MR-6 Pearl Reactive coverstock, which comes highly polished out of the box. This combination of the enormous asymmetric core and the low-friction shell should let the ball clear the heads effortlessly and save all of its energy for a massive, asymmetric kick on the backend.
Comparison
Compared directly to the Track Hx16, the Mx16 runs a bit longer through the heads and offers a drastic, angular backend motion. Against the Storm Snap Lock, the Mx16 delivers considerably cleaner length, but builds a similarly hefty hook at the breakpoint thanks to its massive engine. When friction on the lane is high and transition dries up the front part of the lane, the Mx16 retains its energy exceptionally well and reacts explosively.
On the Lanes
The Track Mx16 is best suited to lane conditions with medium oil volume. For strokers and bowlers with moderate ball speed, it offers the chance to play deeper lines, since the cover saves energy while the asymmetric core provides the massive response off the breakpoint. The enormous drive toward the pocket should deliver convincing carry. On fresh, extremely heavy oil, however, this ball can come up short on traction because of the polished finish.
