BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Ebonite Mission Possible marks the triumphant return of one of the most popular core shapes in bowling history in August 2025. Visually, the ball stays in a classic, menacing solid black, which underlines its purpose as a pure workhorse for heavy oil. Inside spins the legendary Mission 1.0 core, an asymmetric design known for its unique "Claw" shape. The technical numbers (RG around 2.49, diff 0.050 at 15 lbs) produce an early revving up and a massive direction change in the midlane. The real upgrade, however, lies in the shell: for the first time, Ebonite pairs this classic core with the modern HK22C - FX13 Solid Reactive coverstock. Shipping with an aggressive 500/1000/1500 finish, this ball is built to cut through the heaviest oil without losing energy for the pins. It combines the nostalgia of the original Mission with the chemical reaction speed of today's HK22 era.
Comparison
Compared directly to the original Ebonite Mission, which was known for its extremely smooth and controllable motion, the Mission Possible responds noticeably faster to friction thanks to the HK22C base. It feels more "awake" at the breakpoint and converts energy more explosively than the rather sluggish solids of the past. Compared to a Hammer Black Widow 3.0, the Mission Possible reads the lane a bit earlier and offers a more arcing, more continuous motion, while the Black Widow often shows a sharper break at the end. Next to an Ebonite The One Solid, the Mission Possible feels more stable through the midlane and less prone to jumpiness in wet/dry conditions. In terms of performance it sits above a Game Breaker, but offers more control than the extreme high-performance asymmetrics that often react too nervously.
On the Lanes
The Mission Possible is the definitive answer for fresh, oily lane conditions. It's the classic "first ball out of the bag" for tournament players or league bowlers facing house patterns with a lot of volume in the middle. Thanks to the rough surface and the strong core, it filters out overreaction and smooths out the lane. It lets you stay in the oil and use the forgiveness of the pocket instead of having to send the ball way out to the outside. Especially if you throw the ball at higher speed and often struggle to get the ball rolling in time, this ball is a gamechanger. Once the lane dries up and the heads burn up, though, it should be swapped for a shiny hybrid or pearl, since otherwise it loses too much energy in the first several feet.
