BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Brunswick Melee Jab Blood Red comes in an eye-catching deep red pearl look and is the reissue of the popular Melee Jab S.E. in a new color scheme. Technically, the ball pairs the proven Melee Low RG symmetric core with the Savvy Hook 2.0 pearl reactive coverstock. The hard numbers show an RG of 2.487 at 15 pounds and a differential of 0.050. The surface is finished with 500 and 1000 Siaair plus Crown Factory Compound, which produces a polished finish. Brunswick also builds in the innovative DynamiCore technology, which should reduce compression on ball impact and thereby improve carry performance.
Comparison
In practical use, the Melee Jab Blood Red shows similarities to established mid-range pearls. It compares well with the Storm Marvel Pearl, since both balls are considered versatile options you can move to when you don't need maximum traction. Against the Hammer Web Pearl, the Brunswick goes a bit longer but shows comparable strength on the backend. The characteristic "hard arc" motion of the Melee Jab sets it apart from more aggressive options and makes it a controllable alternative for a variety of lane conditions. Compared to the original Melee Jab SE, the Blood Red shows a rounder breakpoint shape with otherwise identical, predictable motion.
On the Lanes
The Brunswick Melee Jab Blood Red should provide ideal ball motion on medium oil volumes for a range of player types. The ball delivers medium length by skidding through the heads with strong midlane rotation and a powerful backend reaction. It's particularly suited to medium oil volumes or broken-down lanes when strong left-right motion is called for. If you stand left and want to throw right on a variety of oil patterns, this ball is a fitting option. It slots between the mid control and mid late spots in your arsenal and offers good responsiveness to hand position changes for controlled hook adjustments. On lighter lane conditions the ball should offer the ultimate payoff and could prove to be an effective league option.
