BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Columbia 300 Maximum Chaos immediately stands out for its combination of proven core technology and advanced surface innovation. At its center sits the Chaos core with a 2.48 RG and a 0.054 differential, characterizing it as a very low RG symmetrical core with a very high differential. The new ERT Solid coverstock comes finished at 500/1000 Abralon out of the box and gives the ball its characteristic traction. The Maximum Chaos was originally not intended for public release, but it is USBC approved, which underscores its exclusivity.
Comparison
Compared directly to other balls in the Chaos family, the Maximum Chaos shows clear differences. By pairing the Chaos core with the new ERT Solid coverstock, it should handle larger oil volumes while preserving the strong backend reaction. Where the regular Columbia 300 Chaos with its Exciter Hybrid cover is designed more for medium to heavy oil conditions, the Maximum Chaos positions itself a step higher in the performance range. Compared to the Storm Phaze II or the Roto Grip Idol, it offers similar characteristics of a strong symmetrical ball, but with the specific Columbia 300 DNA for an aggressive midlane reaction. The Chaos core should rev up very quickly in the midlane, which gives the ball its characteristic behavior.
On the Lanes
The Maximum Chaos is aimed primarily at experienced bowlers looking for a controlled yet still aggressive ball reaction on medium to heavy oil conditions. Development was targeted at producing a head-turning change of direction at the breakpoint while still being able to handle larger oil volumes. If you throw at higher speed with moderate revs, you'll especially benefit from the combination of low RG and high differential. The ERT Solid coverstock makes it an ideal choice for fresh lane conditions where other balls might react too early. Power players will find a reliable partner for tournament conditions, while strokers can also benefit from its versatility with the appropriate surface adjustment. The ball works excellently as a benchmark ball for medium to heavy conditions and can be adapted to a wide range of lane conditions through surface modifications.
