BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Marvel Scale marks the return of the legendary Marvel series in November 2025, with modern technology updates. Storm combines the proven Centripetal A.I. Core with the newly introduced R2S DEEP Solid coverstock, creating a contemporary interpretation of the classic Marvel concept. The surface comes finished at 4000 Abralon out of the box and should deliver optimal traction on medium-heavy to heavy oil patterns. The Centripetal A.I. Core presents itself as an evolution featuring artificial intelligence technology, offering a low, fast-revving core configuration with a 2.470 RG and a 0.053 differential at 15 pounds. The symmetric construction allows for a wide range of drilling layouts and promises a high flare potential of 5-6 inches. The R2S DEEP Solid coverstock stands for "Delayed Energy for Enhanced Performance" and differs from the classic R2S through its cleaner reaction through the heads, which should lead to a more aggressive backend motion with a larger entry angle. The color scheme and design fit right into the tradition of the Marvel line, while the technology clearly points to the future.
Comparison
The Marvel Scale positions itself within the Storm Master Line as a modern evolution of the successful Marvel genealogy. Compared to the original Storm Marvel with its R2X Solid coverstock, the DEEP version promises more length through the heads along with a stronger backend reaction. Against the Storm Marvel-S, which with NRG Solid ranked among Storm's strongest symmetric balls, the Marvel Scale should show a somewhat more controlled midlane reaction with improved energy retention thanks to the R2S DEEP Solid. Compared to the Storm Absolute Power from Storm, which also uses R2S DEEP Solid but is built around the asymmetric Sentinel Core, the Marvel Scale offers a more predictable and rounder ball motion through its symmetric core. The Centripetal A.I. Core differs from its predecessor through the integration of Amplified Inertia technology, which should provide smoother transitions and more consistent performance. Within the current Storm lineup, it could slot in between the Storm Road Warrior from Storm with R2S DEEP Pearl and more aggressive solid asymmetrics like the Storm Ion Pro Solid from Storm.
On the Lanes
The Storm Marvel Scale is aimed primarily at bowlers looking for a controlled yet powerful ball on medium-heavy to heavy oil patterns. The combination of R2S DEEP Solid and Centripetal A.I. Core should shine especially in situations where earlier Marvel versions reacted too strongly in the midlane. Thanks to the cleaner reaction through the heads from the DEEP coverstock, the ball can presumably be played further right without losing the strong continuation to the pin deck that is typical of Marvel balls. The 4000 Abralon surface leaves room for adjustments — a lower grit for even more traction on heavy oil patterns, or polished for longer patterns and broken-down lanes. If you have a medium to higher rev rate, the Marvel Scale should be an ideal benchmark ball that stays usable both at the start of league on fresh oil and during transition. Strokers with lower rev rates could benefit from the energy-storing character of the R2S DEEP, which should generate enough backend power despite the solid coverstock. The low RG of the Centripetal A.I. Core allows the ball to rev up early, creating enough overall ball motion even for speed-dominant players. As the successor to one of Storm's most successful symmetric series, the Marvel Scale could play to its strengths especially on longer sport patterns and PBA conditions, where controllable aggression is called for. The versatility of the Centripetal core combined with the modern DEEP technology makes it an interesting candidate for tournament players looking for a reliable ball for changing conditions.
