BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Marvel Maxx Space is an international release from May 2023 that continues the legendary legacy of the Marvel series. Visually, the ball stands out with its mix of Royal Blue, Black and White, giving it a striking presence both on the shelf and on the lane. Inside works the proven Centripetal Core, known for its extremely low center of gravity. With a 2.48 RG and a 0.050 differential (at 15 lbs), this symmetric core provides early rotation and a stable roll. Wrapped around this technology is the R2S Pearl Reactive coverstock, one of the most successful cover formulations in Storm's history. The surface is polished to 1500 grit out of the box (Reacta Gloss), which helps the ball glide effortlessly through the heads. A nice detail for fans of the brand is the Green Apple scent.
Comparison
Technically, the Marvel Maxx Space is almost a direct reincarnation of the legendary Storm Marvel Pearl. Compared to a ball like the Storm Phaze V, the Marvel Maxx Space comes across as somewhat rounder and more controllable at the breakpoint, even though both balls are designed for length. The Centripetal core tends to read the lane a bit earlier than the Velocity core in the Phaze V, which gives you more confidence without completely sacrificing the aggressive end-of-lane move. Against stronger symmetric balls like the Storm Summit, the Marvel Maxx Space offers noticeably more length and stores its energy more efficiently for the backend, making it the better choice when the heads are already drying up.
On the Lanes
The Marvel Maxx Space shines above all on medium oil patterns and is an excellent choice for the transition phase, when stronger balls (such as solids) start losing energy too early. Thanks to the R2S Pearl cover, it largely ignores the first several feet of the lane and only responds where it counts: at the end of the oil pattern. It is ideal if you want to open up the lane and are looking for a defined but not uncontrollable change of direction. For rev-dominant players it offers enough length to play deep inside, while bowlers with less hand rotation benefit from the support of the low-RG core, which gets the ball reliably into a roll before it reaches the dry.
