BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Marvel Maxx Gold shows up in a shiny Gold Pearl color combination. Inside, the legendary symmetrical Centripetal Core works with a 2.480 RG and a 0.050 differential. For the cover, Storm relies on the strong NRG Pearl Reactive coverstock, polished to a high gloss with a 1500 grit polished finish out of the box. These specs should make the ball rev up quickly thanks to the early-rolling core, while the NRG Pearl shell lets it glide through the heads with extremely little friction. The result is a strong, predictable backend move.
Comparison
Compared directly to the Storm Marvel Pearl, the Marvel Maxx Gold shows a bit more bite in the midlane and a more controlled hook thanks to the NRG Pearl cover. Against a ball like the Storm IQ Tour Pearl, the Marvel Maxx Gold offers a noticeably stronger overall reaction due to its strong core design. Once the lane goes into transition and the boards dry up, the Marvel Maxx Gold plays to its full strength, while balls with a dull surface lose energy too early.
On the Lanes
The Storm Marvel Maxx Gold performs best on medium to slightly dried-up lane conditions. Because it reads the lane later, it lets you play a deep line across the boards without the ball burning up in the front part of the lane. The symmetrical core stores enough energy to generate a continuous path to the pocket. The result is consistent carry. On fresh, very heavy oil, however, the polish will leave the ball wanting a little more traction.
