First Impressions
The Storm Level marks the start of the innovative Lab Series – a collection built on groundbreaking materials and advanced technology. Finished in elegant black and carrying the distinctive "Level" logo, this ball already makes a strong visual impression with its professional design. The Level features an entirely new coverstock technology called RPM (Regenerative Polymer Matrix), which represents a milestone in the bowling industry. The technical specifications show a ball with a moderate RG of 2.58 (16 lbs) and 2.59 (15 lbs) and a low differential of 0.028 and 0.027 respectively. This combination results in a controllable flare potential and an exceptionally even roll. The factory surface with a 1000-grit finish produces early oil absorption without creating the aggressive hook motion normally associated with such surfaces. One special feature of the Level is its Grapple scent – a pleasant detail that rounds out the product experience.

Comparison
The Level occupies a unique niche between urethane and reactive bowling balls. Unlike urethane balls such as the Pitch Black, the Level shows a considerably cleaner motion through the front part of the lane, yet offers more control and predictability than typical reactive coverstock materials. In a direct comparison with the Pitch Black, the Level reads the lane later and produces a smoother, more continuous hook motion. Against the IQ Tour, the Level offers similar early control, but with a more consistent continuation of motion through the pins – regardless of whether conditions are dry or oily. One of the Level's most remarkable characteristics is the way it absorbs oil. While conventional balls react more aggressively to friction as they take on more oil, the Level breaks that correlation. The RPM technology allows faster oil absorption while simultaneously reacting less to friction – a combination that has not been possible in the bowling industry until now.

On the Lanes
The Level is the ideal choice if you are looking for predictable, controllable and even ball motion. It is particularly suited to demanding oil patterns and complex transition phases where precision is decisive. With its low differential and closely spaced flare lines, it carries less oil down the lane than typical reactive balls with a higher differential. If you have a lower rev rate and higher ball speed and want to play closer to the friction, the Level is an excellent option. Likewise, if you have very low ball speed and are just learning to generate more ball spin, you can benefit from the Level's controllable reaction. Another advantage of the Level is its ability to maintain its surface texture over a longer period. While most textured bowling balls tend to become smoother over time ("lane shine"), the Level holds its surface profile noticeably longer. This allows a more consistent ball reaction from shot to shot. The Level forms the perfect bridge if you want to move from urethane to reactive balls, or for situations in which urethane balls hook too early and regular reactive balls show too much motion on the backend. For optimal results, a stronger drilling is recommended in order to encourage an earlier transition and make the best use of the Level's characteristic properties. With the Level, Storm has not only created a new ball but defined an entirely new category of bowling balls that combines the best of two worlds.
