First Impressions
The MOTIV Lethal Venom shows up in a striking design with a black base tone, red accents and a bright yellow snake that embodies the classic Venom branding. But the ball offers far more than just good looks. As the newest member of the legendary Venom family, it combines proven technologies with innovative features. At the heart of the Lethal Venom works the asymmetric Gear APG Core with a low RG of 2.47, a controllable differential of 0.036 and an intermediate differential of 0.013. This specific configuration gives the ball a well-rounded balance between control and versatility. In its basic structure the core resembles the original Gear core of the Venom Shock, but it has been optimized for increased performance. The coverstock of the Lethal Venom consists of the Leverage MXC Solid Reactive material, which was originally developed for the Subzero Forge. This cover comes with a 3000-grit LSS finish and contains the innovative Duramax additive technology — a first for the Venom line. The Duramax technology ensures that the ball retains its surface characteristics longer, develops better traction in oil and allows for an even motion down the lane.

Comparison
In a direct comparison to the Black Venom, the Lethal Venom shows an earlier reaction on the lane and a rounder, more controllable motion shape. While the Black Venom creates more length with its cleaner coverstock and reacts more sharply at the end of the lane, the Lethal Venom offers more traction through the midlane and a more even, more predictable reaction. Compared to the Coral Venom, the Lethal Venom digs into the oil earlier and shows a similar shape at the end of the lane, though with less side-to-side motion. The Coral Venom with its hybrid coverstock needs more friction, while the Lethal Venom already generates the desired traction in the oil. The Lethal Venom also positions itself as the direct successor to the Venom Recoil, taking over that ball's appreciated predictable and even motion, but improving it with the latest technology. Compared to the Subzero Forge, which uses the same coverstock, the Lethal Venom appears somewhat more tamed and more usable for many bowlers.

On the Lanes
The Lethal Venom proves to be a versatile ball that adapts to different player types: if you are speed-dominant and find the Venom Shock or Black Venom too clean on fresh oil, the Leverage MXC coverstock offers enough traction to put the Gear APG Core to work effectively. It also functions as an excellent step-down ball from the Subzero Forge and Evoke on lanes with lower oil concentration or for straighter angles. Balanced players benefit from the Lethal Venom as a benchmark option. Its even, controllable motion with less flare is ideal for reading an oil pattern and gaining control early. For rev-dominant players, who often struggle with balls that have a high differential, the Lethal Venom with its 0.036 differential offers an optimal solution. It reacts more slowly to friction on the lane without being compromised by excessive flare. On house shot patterns with high friction, the Lethal Venom shows its strengths through an early, even read and a predictable reaction at the end of the lane. Its true strength comes out on medium oil conditions and when an even, controllable motion shape is wanted. The Lethal Venom does not impress through extreme length or dramatic backend reactions, but through its dependability and controllability. It is especially effective at smoothing out wet-dry transitions on the lane and allows bowlers to stay in their zone longer instead of constantly having to move left or right.
