The DV8 Intense Collision, hitting the market in August 2026, joins the well-known Collision line as an asymmetric high-performance ball. Visually, it comes in a striking combination of black, slate, and pink, which makes the ball motion and axis rotation easy to read as it rolls down the lane. Inside works the asymmetric Collision core, equipped at a reference weight of 15 pounds with a 2.462 RG, a 0.052 total differential, and a 0.019 intermediate differential. Those core values promise high flare potential and a quick-revving roll that supports the ball's dynamic character. The cover is the HK22C Havoc Pearl Reactive shell, built on the established HyperKinetic22 technology and enriched with special additives. From the factory, this ball is sanded with 500, 1000, and 1500 Siaair pads and finally polished with factory compound. That smooth surface should let the ball glide through the heads effortlessly and without unwanted early friction loss even on broken-down heads. The stored energy is meant to be saved deliberately for a strong, defined backend reaction to guarantee an optimal entry angle into the pins.
Comparison
A direct comparison with its predecessor, the DV8 Severe Collision, brings out the specific traits of the Intense Collision. Where the Severe Collision builds traction distinctly earlier with its hybrid surface and shows a more controlled, arcing motion through the midlane, the Intense Collision is built for significantly more length. The pearl surface delays the hook noticeably, which produces a sharper direction change once the ball meets friction at the breakpoint. Set the Intense Collision against an established benchmark like the Storm Phaze II and you see completely different concepts of ball motion. The Phaze II offers an extremely even, early reaction that reads the pattern calmly and forgives small mistakes at release. The DV8 Intense Collision, by contrast, is far more dynamic: it consistently saves its power for the back part of the lane and generates a considerably more aggressive entry angle into the pocket. It therefore delivers substantially more flip at the end of the pattern and presents itself as a tactical alternative when stronger solids start losing energy too early over the course of a tournament.

Given its asymmetric specifications and polished pearl shell, the DV8 Intense Collision is designed primarily for medium to higher oil volumes. This model shows its real strengths when the pattern moves into transition during a competition and the boards in the front part of the lane get noticeably drier. In scenarios where early-reading balls grab too soon and lose valuable energy at the breakpoint, the Intense Collision takes advantage of its smooth cover. It travels cleanly through the dry heads and only develops its full hook once it reaches the back end. That makes it a very fitting choice if you like playing deeper lines and attacking the pocket from wide-open angles. The carry, helped along by the strong asymmetric core design, clears the pins reliably even on slightly less-than-perfect hits. If you have lower ball speed, you'll benefit heavily from the extra length, since the ball doesn't pull up toward the pins too early. At the same time, if you're rev-dominant, you can use the pronounced backend dynamics to play the full width of the lane effectively.
