First Impressions
The Radical Intel Tour, released in August 2026, presents itself as a controllable benchmark ball developed specifically for heavily played and dry lane conditions. Visually, the ball comes in a striking magenta, which makes its calm, even roll down the lane easy to follow. Inside works the symmetrical Modified Intel core, which already served as a reliable engine in the original Intel series. At a reference weight of 15 pounds, this core carries an RG of 2.483 and a low differential of 0.032. Those numbers point to a moderate flare potential and very predictable, calm energy distribution. The most significant technological update is in the coverstock. For the Intel Tour, Radical uses the entirely new Hyper Control Solid material. This cover is designed to mimic the ball motion of urethane by delivering an extremely controlled, early midlane reaction, while at the same time absorbing oil like a classic reactive surface. That keeps the ball legal for all PBA and USBC competition. The surface is finished at the factory with 500 and 1500 Siaair Micro Pads to a matte look, creating a tacky texture that is perfectly matched to gentle control through the heads and midlane.
Comparison In comparison, the Radical Intel Tour positions itself as a bridge between traditional urethane and reactive benchmark balls. Compared to a pure urethane ball like the Hammer Purple Pearl Urethane, the Intel Tour produces a very similar smooth, arcing transition, but without pushing the oil around on the lane as drastically, since the cover soaks the oil up. Set against a classic reactive benchmark ball like the Storm Phaze II, the Radical Intel Tour shows a noticeably calmer and more muted backend reaction. Where the Storm Phaze II develops a more powerful, harder-driving move at the breakpoint, the Intel Tour aims to deliberately flatten out the response to friction. Compared directly to asymmetrical models such as the Radical No Doubt Hybrid, the Intel Tour lacks the pronounced angle into the pocket, but it scores with maximum forgiveness once lane conditions get squirrely or extremely dry.
On the Lanes On the lanes, the Radical Intel Tour is the ideal tool for light to medium oil conditions and especially for heavily played, friction-heavy patterns. It is aimed at tournament players and serious league bowlers looking for a controlled roll without giving up the oil-absorption advantages of a reactive cover. When friction on the lane increases and stronger reactive balls tend to react too early and jump uncontrollably toward the pocket, this ball plays to its strengths. Thanks to the matte surface and the low differential, the Intel Tour calms the hook down and lets you play the outside boards with great precision. The even, controlled motion means the ball finds its way into the pins dependably without overreacting. With this kind of ball motion you do have to accept slight compromises in terms of extreme entry angles, but the easy-to-read motion secures consistent carry on conditions that are no longer reasonably playable with aggressive equipment.
