First Impressions
The Radical Incognito comes in an elegant black-and-blue design and ranks among the strongest bowling balls in Radical's current lineup. The ball was released in 2020 and uses the new S.H.A.R.P. coverstock, which stands for Strong Hooking Angular Reactive Performance. Technically it features an asymmetric core with a 2.487 RG, a high 0.053 differential, and a medium 0.017 mass bias differential. The factory surface prep consists of 500, 1000 and 2000 Siaair Micro Pad, which provides plenty of friction for heavy oil volumes.
Comparison
Compared directly to the Radical Results Solid, the Incognito offers a lower RG and a higher differential, though with a smaller intermediate differential. In testing, the S.H.A.R.P. cover proved considerably more angular than the TS-1 cover of the Results Solid. The Incognito should provide the strongest overall hook of all current Radical Technologies releases, which places it above models like the Radical Results or the Radical Maximum Results in the hierarchy. The longer hook phase sets it apart from typical asymmetric designs and makes it a particularly aggressive representative of its category.
On the Lanes
The Incognito is designed primarily for heavy oil volumes, and its 2000 Siaair surface provides enough traction for those conditions. The sanded surface grabs hard in the midlane and shows a powerful, angular move off the backend. Expect a longer hook phase than you normally find on asymmetric balls, along with exceptional continuation through the pin deck. The ball is especially suited to higher rev rates looking for a sharp, defined reaction at the breakpoint on heavily oiled lanes. The combination of chemical friction technology and the new taller-narrower core design should redefine ball performance. For tournament players, it offers the option of scoring with an aggressive ball reaction even as lane conditions break down.
