BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Brunswick Igniter Solid comes in an eye-catching Lime Green/Grey color combination and uses the proven Brink Symmetric core with an RG of 2.508 and a differential of 0.043 in the 15-pound weight. The coverstock is the Relativity 3.0 Solid Reactive cover, which ships with a 500/2000 Siaair finish. The ball uses the same core as the Jagged Edge series along with an updated, stronger version of the Relativity cover that has already proven itself at Brunswick. Visually, the ball looks dusty right out of the box and has a decent amount of surface texture.
Comparison
The Igniter Solid is characterized by smooth transitions from skid to hook to roll, which gives it a very round and predictable ball reaction. That round motion characteristic is traditionally typical of Brunswick balls. Despite the strong surface, this is really a medium ball that appears stronger than it actually is because of the cover. In testing it showed limited recovery on the back end, which restricts the ball's versatility. In practice it fills the gap between less aggressive balls like the Radical Bonus Solid and stronger options like the Knock-Out.
On the Lanes
The Igniter Solid should offer particularly good recovery on medium to oily lane conditions. Brunswick markets it as a versatile all-purpose ball with a continuous, strong arcing reaction that can be used on a variety of lane conditions. Experts see it ideally as a mid control ball, especially once the surface gets a bit more polished. If you're left-handed, you could benefit from the smooth reaction, since lefties tend to play more direct and the ball can smooth out over/under reactions without any surprise moves. In terms of price, the ball is positioned as an affordable option if you're looking for plenty of hook without a big investment. Paired with the Igniter Pearl, it forms a strong duo for medium lane conditions.
